MUPY Welcomes UST Exchange Students to 2026 Pharmaceutical Biochemistry Training Program

On Friday, June 26, 2026, from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, through its Department of Biochemistry in collaboration with the International Relations Unit, organized an orientation session for the 2026 Pharmaceutical Biochemistry Training Program for exchange students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santo Tomas (UST), Philippines. The event was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraphun Jittikoon, Deputy Dean for General Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanvisa Udomsinprasert, Head of the Department of Biochemistry, and faculty members at Room 710, Rajaratana Building.
The four exchange students participating in the program are: 1) Mr. Hanz-Mikhael Falkeisen T. Demmel, 2) Ms. Jehann Eloise S. Largo, 3) Ms. Maria Athena T. Marty, and 4) Ms. Arabella Ryanna A. Reyes. They were accompanied by Prof. Dr. Ruel Valerio R. De Grano, the students’ academic supervisor, who also attended the orientation session.
The 2026 Pharmaceutical Biochemistry Training Program is being conducted from June 25 to July 22, 2026. The program aims to provide academic training and enhance learning experiences for exchange students in the field of Pharmaceutical Biochemistry. It also seeks to promote the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and cultures among students and faculty members through international academic collaboration. Such engagement helps broaden professional perspectives, strengthen specialized competencies, and foster sustainable networks among higher education institutions worldwide.
In addition, the exchange program supports the MUPY’s mission to serve as a center of academic excellence and professional services in pharmaceuticals, herbal medicines, cosmetics, and food products for sustainable national development. The program also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all; SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, by encouraging international educational exchange and cross-cultural understanding; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening global academic partnerships and collaborative networks in support of sustainable development.
