MUPY Welcomes Delegation from Wakayama Medical University to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaborations

On Monday, August 24, 2026, from 03:00 p.m. to 04:30 p.m., the executives of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waree Limwikrant, Head of the Department of Manufacturing Pharmacy, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanit Sa-ngiamsuntorn, welcomed a delegation from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wakayama Medical University (WMU), Japan. The delegation was led by Prof. Norihito, Chair of the International Exchange Committee, and Prof. Hidenori Fujibayashi, University Research Administrator, at Meeting Room 409, Rajaratana Building.
On this occasion, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, and the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wakayama Medical University, held discussions to explore future academic collaboration in teaching, research, and student and staff exchanges. The delegation also toured the Faculty’s research centers and facility infrastructure. Overall, this visit marked an important milestone in strengthening ties, fostering concrete outcomes, and reinforcing the international network between both institutions.
In addition, the activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting educational collaboration and capacity development for students and staff; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through the advancement of research collaboration and pharmaceutical innovation; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening international partnerships between higher education institutions.
