Message from the Dean



Welcome to Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University was established in 2511 B.E. (1968) under the name the Faculty of Pharmacy, Phayathai, University of Medical Sciences, which was later changed to the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University. A key venerated figure in the Faculty’s history is Prof. Dr. Pradit Hutangkura, who played a crucial role in its founding and served as our first Dean.

From the past to the present day, the Faculty of Pharmacy has experienced continuous growth over the past five decades. Despite numerous environmental challenges and changes, the consistent collaboration and unwavering commitment of the Faculty's personnel across all eras to benefit society have led to the current recognition of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, as a leading institution for pharmaceutical education and research in the country and the region.

The Faculty is home to 95+ highly qualified faculty members whose expertise spans across a wide range of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice areas, all of which are recognized both nationally and internationally. Furthermore, the Faculty possesses comprehensive resources that support education, research, and academic services, such as an internationally-connected, comprehensive library system, a multitude of laboratories that cover all forms of learning and skill enhancement, a wide range of scientific instruments, and an information system that supports student learning both on-site and online.

We are proud of our past and current achievements, and remains committed to the continuous development of our organization toward evolving world-class quality standard across all missions.

For pharmacy education, we are dedicated to deliver quality education for our students through continuous quality improvement and assurance of our curricula at all levels. We strive to bring innovative pedagogy techniques, integrating new technologies into our way of teaching and learning. We embrace outcome-based education philosophy to ensure that our graduates are equipped with knowledge, skills and attributes to become change agents that can contribute to the advancement of the society, both national and regional levels.

In research, innovation, and academic services, we are committed to the enhancement of the nation's competitiveness, address the needs of society, and meet the demands of the global academic community. We also serve as a reliable source of information to guide Thai society in the safe and appropriate use of medicines, herbal products, and other health products. Additionally, the Faculty is committed to collaborating with the government and civil society to continually advance Thailand’s public health system and beyond.
