On Monday, August 24, 2026, from 09:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), through its International Relations Unit, organized an orientation and welcome session for international students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University (CU), Japan. The session was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waree Limwikrant, Head of Department of Manufacturing Pharmacy, who warmly welcomed Prof. Dr. Kunikazu Moribe, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University, and 17 exchange students at Room 606, Rajaratana Building.
A total of 17 exchange students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University, are participating in the 2026 Chiba ENGINE Program, which will be held from August 24 to September 4, 2026, at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University. Throughout the program, the students will gain academic knowledge and practical experience in pharmaceutical sciences, exchange knowledge and experiences with MUPY faculty members and students, and learn about pharmacy education and the pharmacy profession in Thailand.
The program forms part of MUPY’s efforts to strengthen international academic collaboration and promote student mobility. It provides opportunities for students and faculty members from both institutions to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives in pharmaceutical sciences and the pharmacy profession, while fostering stronger institutional ties and creating opportunities for future collaboration in education and research
The initiative supports the MUPY’s mission to serve as a center for academic services in pharmaceuticals, herbal medicines, cosmetics, and food, contributing to sustainable national development. It also advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering international academic collaboration, promoting equitable access to educational opportunities, and strengthening pharmacy education through global exchange and collaboration.
