MUPY Welcomes Exchange Students from Universitas Islam Indonesia for International Training Program

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 09.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), through its Department of Microbiology in collaboration with the International Relations and Corporate Communications Unit, hosted the International Exchange Training Program for students from the Department of Pharmacy, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Republic of Indonesia. The welcoming ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mullika Chomnawang, Head of the Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control (AMRIC) Laboratory, who warmly welcomed six exchange students alongside Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krit Thirapanmethee, Head of Department of Microbiology, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pagakrong Wanapaisan at Room 611, Rajaratana Building.
The participating students from UII are: 1) Sanabel Maulida Alnafisi, 2) Aris, 3) Ashila Fitria, 4) Nanda Esa Wahyu Nurrafi'u, 5) Artika Diah Eka Putri, and 6) Abidullah Adel. The training program is scheduled from June 4–26, 2026, with the objective of enhancing the students' knowledge and practical skills in the field of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). Throughout the program, the students will engage in academic and laboratory-based training activities at the Department of Microbiology and AMRIC Laboratory. In addition to academic enrichment, the program provides valuable opportunities for participants to exchange knowledge and experiences, broaden their perspectives, and gain insights into cultural diversity.
This initiative represents another significant milestone in strengthening academic partnerships between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University and Universitas Islam Indonesia. It also promotes knowledge exchange, student capacity building, and future research collaboration, in alignment with MUPY’s mission to produce globally competent graduates and generate internationally recognized knowledge and innovation.
Furthermore, the program contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting international learning opportunities and academic exchange, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through the enhancement of collaborative networks between higher education institutions to support sustainable development on a global scale.
