MUPY Participates in Expert Consultation on Budget Impact Analysis for Health Benefit Packages

Between 14–16 April 2026, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for International Relations and Corporate Communication, participated in the “Expert Consultation on Budget Impact Analysis for Integration of HIV, TB and Malaria into Health Benefit Packages,” held in the Republic of South Africa. The consultation was co-convened by WHO AFRO, The Global Fund, and the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC).

The consultation focused on reviewing and exchanging views on budget impact analysis for the inclusion of HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria interventions in national health benefit packages to ensure long-term sustainability. It brought together leading experts and representatives from relevant government agencies. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong shared insights on the inclusion of health interventions in the Thai context.

MUPY’s participation underscores its active engagement on the international stage and its capacity to contribute to advancing health policy, particularly in the areas of health economics and sustainable health benefit package development. It further reflects the Faculty’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and leveraging global expertise to strengthen national health systems. The initiative also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
