MUPY Welcomed Clinical Pharmacists from Saint Paul Hospital, Vietnam, to Foster International Collaboration in Pharmacy Practice and Professional Development

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 01:00 p.m. to 03:30 p.m., the International Relations Office of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), hosted an official visit and reception for seven clinical pharmacists from Saint Paul Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam, at Room 606, Rajaratana Building. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication. The visit was organized to strengthen international engagement between the two institutions while providing an opportunity for the delegates to gain a deeper understanding of pharmacy education, clinical pharmacy practice, and Thailand's pharmaceutical healthcare system.

Earlier in the day, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan accompanied the delegation on a visit to the Pharmacy Department of Siriraj Hospital, where they learned about the hospital's pharmacy services and the roles of clinical pharmacists within one of Thailand's leading tertiary care hospitals. During the afternoon session at MUPY, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan delivered an overview of the Faculty, highlighting its academic programs, research excellence, international collaborations, and strategic directions. The visit also featured productive discussions on clinical pharmacy practice, pharmaceutical care, and potential research collaborations, followed by a campus tour that introduced the delegates to MUPY's educational and research facilities.

The visit is expected to enhance mutual understanding and establish a strong foundation for future collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, and Saint Paul Hospital. The discussions are anticipated to facilitate future academic exchanges, collaborative research, professional development initiatives, and knowledge sharing in clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care, thereby contributing to the advancement of pharmacy education and healthcare services in both countries. This activity aligns with the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University's mission to produce research and innovation of national and international standards while expanding international academic and professional partnerships. Furthermore, it contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting the exchange of best practices in pharmaceutical care and healthcare services; SDG 4: Quality Education, through international knowledge exchange and professional learning; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening international collaboration in education, research, and professional practice.
