MUPY welcomes visiting professor from Shinshu University to advance research collaboration

On Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), through its International Relations Unit, hosted Prof. Dr. Toshio Sakai from the Faculty of Engineering, Shinshu University, Japan. The visit took place at Room 309, Rajaratana Building, and was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korbtham Sathirakul and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraporn Leanpolchareanchai from the Division of Pharmaceutical Technology. Also in attendance were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakatip Ruenraroengsak, and Mr. Shunsuke Suzumori, an exchange student from the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Shinshu University.

The highlight of the visit was a meeting and round-table discussion among the four professors. The agenda focused on their ongoing research collaboration and explored potential academic partnerships, including student exchange programs, internship opportunities, and joint research initiatives between MUPY and Shinshu University.

This visit reaffirmed the commitment of both institutions to deepening research collaborations and academic exchange. It is expected that such engagements will lead to the co-creation of impactful innovations, the development of international learning environments, and the strengthening of institutional partnerships. The activity is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering international collaboration and promoting access to global academic resources.
