On July 30, 2024, from 01.00 P.M. to 04.30 P.M., International Pharmacy School of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY) hosted an orientation meeting for MUPY’s inaugural batch of the first-year pharmacy students who had enrolled in MUPY's International Pharm. D. Program. Having been held at Jarinyaratta Room, Atittayatorn Building, Mahidol University International College (MUIC), the orientation was attended by MUPY’s executives led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, Assist. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, the Deputy Dean for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Program), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Busba Chindavijak, and Dr. Thongtham Suksawat, along with 14 students of the inaugural batch of the pharmacy students (International Program).
During the orientation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yingyot Chiaravutthi, MUIC's Deputy Dean, gave an opening speech and a warm welcome for the first-year students of the inaugural batch. Afterward, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan provided the information on the topic of ‘Welcome to the Doctor of Pharmacy Program’. Moreover, there were activities including a promotional video of the College and MUIC tour. The purpose of the activities was to spark the opportunity for first-year pharmacy students (International Program) to become familiar with the environment within Mahidol University International College and Salaya Campus where would be their locations of the study and living. Furthermore, there was also an introduction to the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Program), faculty members, learning methods, and professional practice. The goal was to provide the students with general information on how to study within the Faculty that would help the students prepare for the new learning environment.
Additionally, the orientation for the first-year students of the International Program supports the Faculty’s mission to produce graduates with equivalent quality to leading pharmacy institutions in Asia, equipped with morality and competency to serve societal needs, while responding to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
