On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., the International Pharmacy School of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MIPY), organized a Knowledge Management (KM) program entitled “Teaching Pharmacy Students in the 21st Century: A U.S. Perspective”. The event was officially opened by Asst. Prof. Jennis Meanwatthana, Deputy Dean for the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (International Program), at Room 501, Research Building

The KM session featured Dr. Ashley Hawthorne, Visiting Scholar from the Harrison College of Pharmacy, Auburn University, USA, as the guest speaker. Dr. Hawthorne shared insights and experiences on contemporary approaches to pharmacy education in the United States, highlighting teaching and learning strategies that align with evolving healthcare systems, technological advancements, and the changing professional roles of pharmacists in the 21st century. The program aimed to enhance the knowledge, competencies, and teaching skills of faculty members to support effective instruction within the international program. It also sought to promote the development of appropriate learning approaches and educational media for an international learning context, while fostering academic collaboration and knowledge exchange with other educational institutions to continuously improve educational quality.

This activity aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting modern, internationally benchmarked pharmacy education. The initiative contributes to the development of competent pharmacy graduates who are well prepared for professional practice in the global healthcare environment of the 21st century.
