MUPY Welcomes Delegation from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Shizuoka, Japan

On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies and Information Technology, welcomed a delegation from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Shizuoka, Japan, led by Prof. Dr. Kouichi Yoshinari, Dean, and Prof. Dr. Eiji Umemoto, at Room 606, Rajaratana Building. On this occasion, representatives from the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khon Kaen University (KKU), also participated in the visit.

The KKU delegation included 1) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Laddawan Senggunprai, Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, 2) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nontaya Nakkam, Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, 3) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaowared Sumanont, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, and 4) Asst. Prof. Dr. Orawan Monthakantirat, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science.

The visit aimed to explore opportunities for joint research collaboration in pharmaceutical sciences, discuss ways to enhance faculty and student exchanges, including potential collaboration in Ph.D. programs, and exchange information on the research strengths, educational programs, and scientific activities of the participating institutions. The delegation also toured MUPY’s learning and research facilities on campus, gaining valuable insights into its academic environment and resources.

This activity aligns with the Faculty’s missions to enhance the quality of education, promote research and innovation in accordance with international standards, and serve as a center of academic services in pharmaceutical sciences contributing to the sustainable development of national health. Furthermore, it supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education, through international academic collaboration and the strengthening of professional capacity in pharmaceutical sciences.
