MUPY Welcomes Wakayama Medical University to Advance Global Partnerships

On Monday, February 9, 2026, from 01:00 pm to 02:30 pm, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, officially welcomed Professor Dr. Norihito Shintani, the representative from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Wakayama Medical University (WMU), Japan. This visit serves as a strategic milestone in enhancing the global partnership between the two prestigious institutions. 

The meeting, held in Room 401, Research Bldg., focused on several high-impact areas intended to advance pharmaceutical sciences and international cooperation including 1) Academic and Research Initiatives: Engaging in high-level discussions to identify potential collaborative research projects and innovative academic programs; 2) Mobility Programs: Facilitating the exchange and mobility of faculty, staff, and students between Mahidol University and Wakayama Medical University to promote cross-cultural and academic synergy; and 3) Strategic Partnership: Strengthening the foundation for future faculty-level cooperation, building upon a long-standing university-wide academic agreement already in place.

This international exchange aligns with the Faculty of Pharmacy’s vision to be a pharmaceutical academic institution meeting international standards while contributing to a sustainable society. By fostering meaningful academic exchanges, both institutions aim to contribute significantly to the advancement of pharmaceutical education and global health. The academic visit of Professor Dr. Norihito Shintani to MUPY strategically aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by promoting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education) through collaborative research initiatives and the mobility of faculty, staff, and students to foster meaningful academic exchanges. Furthermore, this engagement reinforces SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by establishing a global partnership and strengthening the foundation for future faculty-level cooperation, building upon a long-standing university-wide academic agreement. by adhering to international standards, MUPY fulfills its vision of contributing to the development of a sustainable society through these collaborative efforts.
