MUPY Welcomes Delegates from College of Pharmacy, Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan, to Discuss Academic and Research Collaboration

On Friday, February 6, 2026, from 13.00 to 15.00 hrs., the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean, along with the administrative board members, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichit Nosoongnoen, Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, and Dr. Pongpol Thanuphol, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication, Assist. Prof. Dr. Farsai Chanjaruporn, Deputy Head, Department of Pharmacy, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished delegation from the College of Pharmacy, Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU), Taiwan. The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Shyh-Chyun Yang, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Yung-Yi Cheng, Section Director of International Affairs. This official visit aimed to discuss academic collaboration and took place at Room V401, Pradit Hutangura Research Building.
The session commenced with welcoming remarks and an introduction to MUPY’s overview by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, followed by a presentation introducing the College of Pharmacy, Kaohsiung Medical University, delivered by Prof. Dr. Shyh-Chyun Yang. Subsequently, a round-table discussion was conducted to explore potential areas for future collaboration, focusing on academic and research initiatives, staff and student mobility programs, professional development, and joint academic activities. The visit concluded with a campus tour, where the delegates visited various facilities to observe MUPY's readiness and capabilities in pharmaceutical education and research.
This visit marks a significant milestone in initiating and strengthening the relationship between the two institutions. It is expected to lead to concrete collaborative projects that will elevate academic and research standards to an international level. Furthermore, this activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, by supporting knowledge exchange and increasing international educational opportunities for students and staff, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, which emphasizes building strong networks among leading regional educational institutions to drive sustainable development in pharmacy and public health.
