MUPY Welcomed the Delegation from University of Arizona and Kobe Pharmaceutical University
">On August 7, 2024, from 10.00 A.M. to 03.00 P.M., Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY) led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, along with Assist. Prof. Jennis Meanwatthana, and Dr. Thongtham Suksawat welcomed the faculty members and students from the College of Pharmacy, University of Arizona, USA, and Kobe Pharmaceutical University, Japan.
Moreover, two special lectures were held on the topic of Pharmacy Education and Practice in Thailand delivered by Asst. Prof. Jennis Meanwatthana, and on the topic of Public Health and Healthcare System of Thailand presented by Assist. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong. Furthermore, the delegates visited the MUPY’s drugstore, with Assist. Prof. Dr. Somying Pumtong serving as a lecturer. After that, they joined the orientation of the 2nd-year students and interacted with MUPY undergraduate students during the session.
The purpose of their visit was to conduct the study visits in Thailand to explore Thailand’s pharmacy system, pharmacy education, and pharmacy professional practices at MUPY’s affiliated training sites including 1) Golden Jubilee Medical Center of Mahidol University, 2) Siriraj Hospital, and 3) Healthcare Service Center No. 51. This event also aimed to enhance the potential of faculty members, students, and registered pharmacists at the training sites through international collaboration, while also promoting the Faculty’s global visibility.
Furthermore, this activity supported the Faculty’s Missions in terms of serving as the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation. It also responded to the SDG’s Goal 4th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
