During August 7-11, 2023, Asst. Prof. Dr. Luerat Anuratpanich, the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Quality Development, had accepted an official invitation and attended the training program entitled “IAAHEH International Assessor Training” arranged by the International Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH). Having been held in Jakarta, Indonesia, the training program was also attended by the representatives from leading universities in Asia and Europe.
The training was led by Dr. Robin Benstead, the Principal Education QA Programme Manager of the General Medical Council. The content of this training program encompassed a quality assessment criterion for pharmacy programs, Examination and assessment of curriculum quality; assessment techniques such as document analysis, interview, and site visit; writing an assessment report; and exit finding presentation. Moreover, the participating institutions, including the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, who had been invited and took part in this IAAHEH International Assessor Training will be an official international assessor of IAAHEH to assess the academic program in Indonesia in the future.
In this training program, it was a collaborative learning to develop a quality assessment criterion in each academic program through a support of General Medical Council (GMC) who was known as the leader in the creation of assessment criteria for medical programs in United Kingdom and at the International level such as WFME (World Federation for Medical Education).
In addition, the IAAHE was established in 2014 by 7 Health Professional Organizations and the following 7 Health Science including 1) Indonesian Medical Association and Association of Medical Education Schools, 2) Indonesian Dental Association and Association of Dental Education Schools, 3) Indonesian Nurses Association and Association of Indonesian Nursing Education Schools, 4) Indonesian Midwives Association and Indonesian Midwifery Education Association., 5) Indonesian Pharmacist Association and Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Education Schools, 6) Indonesian Public Health Association and Association of Indonesian Public Health Education Schools, and 7) Indonesian Nutrition Association and Association of Indonesian Nutrition Education Schools. The IAAHEH was responsible for supervising and controlling the quality of all health science programs.
Furthermore, his participation in this event supported the Faculty’s Mission in term of producing graduates with quality standards comparable to leading educational institutions in Asia. This event also responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Reduce inequality within and among countries. Goal 10: reduce inquality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
