Public Lectures by a Japanese Visiting Professor

On December 19, 2022, MUPY’s Department of Pharmacy in collaboration with the International Relations Unit arranged two academic lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Yuichi Sugiyama, a visiting professor from School of Pharmacy, Laboratory of Quantitative System Pharmacokinetics / Pharmacodynamics, Josai International University. This event was considered a part of his academic schedule as he had been invited by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korbtham Sathirakul and was then officially granted Mahidol University’s 2023 Short-term Visiting Scholars to Work at Mahidol University, particularly at the Faculty of Pharmacy’s Division of Pharmaceutical Technology in the period of December 7, 2022 until January 15, 2023. Having been held in a hybrid form both at Room 404 and livestreamed via the Zoom Meeting platform, the lectures’ topics included “Molecular Pharmacokinetics: The Principle” mostly for undergraduate students. The other topic was “Micro-dosing and Application” as a public lecture for faculty members, researchers, and those who shown an interest to attend. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Korbtham Sathirakul provided a warm welcome to Prof. Dr. Yuichi Sugiyama as well as introduced him as an invited speaker of this event which was also attended by more than 30 audiences including MUPY graduate students, faculty members, and researchers. In addition, this activity supported the Faculty’s Missions in terms of producing graduates with equivalent quality to leading pharmacy institutions in Asia, equipped with morality and competency to serve the societal need as well as producing research and innovation that meets national and international standard. It also responded to the SDG’s Goal 4th: Reduce inequality within and among countries and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
