On Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10.30 PM to 01.30 AM (Thailand time), Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitchaya Dilokpattanamongkol, Deputy Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, was invited to deliver a presentation at the 4th AACP Global Education Symposium 2025. The symposium was organized by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), in collaboration with the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), under the theme “Pharmacy Education in Transition: Expanding Roles, Evolving Standards, and Global Opportunities”.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pitchaya Dilokpattanamongkol presented on the topic “Pharmacy Education in Thailand: Evolving Standards and Expanding Roles”, highlighting the major developments in Thailand’s pharmacy education system. Her presentation covered the transition from the 5-year curriculum to the 6-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, which focuses on patient-care competencies, experiential learning, and interprofessional collaboration. She also addressed the growing importance of postgraduate training—including Residency Programs and Short-Course Training—as essential mechanisms for strengthening continuous professional development and supporting lifelong learning in the pharmacy profession.

The symposium was held in an online format and brought together representatives from leading pharmacy institutions across several countries, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. Participants exchanged knowledge and experiences, and discussed strategies to advance pharmacy education in response to global healthcare changes and to strengthen international academic standards that meet future public health needs. Furthermore, this participation reflects the MUPY’s strong commitment to enhancing the quality of education and advancing the development of healthcare professionals in a rapidly changing world. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, and SDG 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
