MUPY Showcased Innovative Herbal Inventions at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva

From April 9 to 13, 2025, three faculty members from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), consisting of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongtip Sithisarn along with Assoc. Prof. Dr.  Piyanuch Rojsanga and Dr. Chutima Petchprayoon participated in the competition and exhibition of inventions at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held at the PalExpo International Conference and Exhibition Center in Geneva, Switzerland. They also presented two innovative inventions at the event as shown below.

1) The project titled “Phakpaem Adaptogenic Tablets” received a Bronze Medal.
The inventors of this project included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongtip Sithisarn, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyanuch Rojsanga, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montree Jaturanpinyo, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakatip Ruenraroengsak, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khanit Sa-ngiamsuntorn, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veena Satitpatipan, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Bunsupa, and Dr. Chutima Petchprayoon.

2) The project titled “Phakpaem Drink with Crystal Bubbles” received a Silver Medal and a Special Prize (Distinguished Innovation Award) from Umm Al-Qura University, Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The inventors of this project included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongtip Sithisarn, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyanuch Rojsanga,  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakatip Ruenraroengsak, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Orasa Suriyaphan.

These two awarded innovative projects were among the six selected works from Mahidol University supported by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for participation in this event. The participation also reflected the Faculty of Pharmacy's commitment to promoting and supporting innovation in pharmaceutical sciences, particularly in the field of herbal medicine, to sustainably address public health needs. Moreover, this initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. The Faculty aims to produce high-quality research that benefits society and the environment in the long term.
