On Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 09.00 A.M. to 11.00 A.M., executives from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, warmly welcomed delegates from the College of Pharmacy and Chemistry, University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), Philippines. The UIC delegation comprised Dr. Kathleen O. Bersabal, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Chemistry, and Dr. Cherrie G. Muana, Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator.
The meeting, held in the economic meeting room of Health Technology Assessment Program (HTA) department, focused on exploring potential academic and research collaborations, including student and staff exchange programs, joint conferences, online lectures, research initiatives, and professional training opportunities. Following the discussions, the UIC delegates toured MUPY's learning and research facilities, including the Central Research Facility Unit, the Centre of Biopharmaceutical Science for Healthy Ageing (BSHA), the Centre of Molecular Targeting & Integrated Drug Development (CMT-IDD), and various learning laboratories.
This visit marked a significant step in strengthening academic ties and fostering international cooperation in pharmaceutical education and professional practice. In addition, this program responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
