On Monday, February 17, 2025, from 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM, the International Relations Office of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY) organized an orientation meeting of the 2025 Student Mobility Program for 19 undergraduate students from Chiba University’s Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Japan. Having been held at Room 606, Rajaratana Building, the orientation meeting for these exchange students was attended by MUPY’s executives led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waree Limwikrant, Chair of the Department of Manufacturing Pharmacy, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraporn Leanpolchareanchai. MUPY faculty members also provided a warm welcome to Prof. Dr. Kunikazu Moribe, Vice Dean, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University, who accompanied 19 exchange students to join the 2025 Student Mobility Program held at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waree Limwikrant, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraporn Leanpolchareanchai participated in the activities and held discussions with Prof. Dr. Kunikazu Moribe regarding expanding academic collaboration between the two institutions. Key topics included the future arrangement of an overseas professional internship program at Chiba University for MUPY sixth-year undergraduate students, as well as strengthening the postgraduate student training program for Chiba University students at MUPY in the near future.
Regarding the 2025 Student Mobility Program for Chiba University's students, it was scheduled from February 17 to 26, 2025. The 19 participating students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University, included: 1. Mr. Kimura Haruki 2. Mr. Miyazaki Hideru 3. Mr. Mamiya Hitoshi 4. Mr. Hatano Ryota 5. Mr. Naito Hayato 6. Mr. Endo Yuma 7. Mr. Kikuchi Hiroharu 8. Mr. Shimazu Shuya 9. Mr. Kanno Kaito 10. Mr. Tamakuni Keigo 11. Mr. Ui Hiromi 12. Mr. Hiroshima Takuya 13. Mr. Hidaka Hiroki 14. Mr. Saka Kosei 15. Mr. Aneko Taiga 16. Ms. Hosogoe Yoka 17. Mr. Fujita Kazui 18. Mr. Shimizu Yusuke 19. Ms. Tanabe Yui. This international student exchange and training program was determined to promote learning and knowledge exchange between the two institutions. The exchange students from Chiba University had the opportunity to participate in academic lectures and laboratory training at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, as well as visit MUPY’s academic service centers including Drug Information Center, Center of Analysis for Product Quality (Microbiology), and MUPY Dermocosmetic Testing Center.
Additionally, the participating students engaged in cultural exchange activities and relationship-building with MUPY pharmacy students through recreational activities and workshops throughout the program. The objectives of the Student Mobility Program were to promote academic and cross-cultural exchange, enhance students’ academic knowledge, social skills, and English proficiency, and foster strong relationships between Mahidol University pharmacy students and exchange students. This initiative strengthened the academic excellence and international visibility of MUPY, providing opportunities for faculty members and students to exchange knowledge, experiences, and cultural insights through global academic collaboration. It also aligned with the Faculty’s internationalization efforts through academic partnerships with overseas universities.
The Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, remained committed to strengthening academic collaborations with leading universities worldwide to enhance the capabilities of students, faculty members, and staff, thereby fostering knowledge and innovation in pharmaceutical sciences that would benefit Thai society and the global community. Furthermore, this student exchange program aligned with the Faculty’s mission to be a hub for academic services in pharmaceuticals, herbal medicine, cosmetics, and food for sustainable national development. It also responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
