On February 11, 2025, from 01:00 P.M. to 03:30 P.M., the executive members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Nuchtavorn, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation, and Dr. Thongtham Suksawat Instructor of Mahidol International Pharmacy School (MIPY) officially welcomed a delegation from the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), the Republic of Indonesia, at Room 606, Rajaratana Building.
The 18-member UMM delegation, led by Dr. Nailis Syifa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, visited MUPY with three primary objectives: (1) to explore potential collaborations in pharmacy education, research, and curriculum management (Thai program and international program); (2) to learn and share about insights into MUPY’s best practices in pharmaceutical education and professional training; and (3) to strengthen and expand international partnerships between both institutions.
During the discussions, both parties expressed interest in potential collaborations, including student exchange and training programs, postgraduate program opportunities, joint publications, and co-hosting joint conferences. Following the meeting, the UMM delegates explored the MUPY's learning and research facilities, including the Central Research Facility Unit, the Centre of Biopharmaceutical Science for Healthy Ageing (BSHA), the Centre of Molecular Targeting & Integrated Drug Development (CMT-IDD), and various learning laboratories.
Furthermore, this activity responded to the SDG’s Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
