MUPY engaged in International Forum on Chinese Medicine Development in China

On Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 09:00 A.M. to .4:00 P.M., local time in the People's Republic of China, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Boonsupa, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation of Mahidol University's Faculty of Pharmacy, participated in the First International Forum on the Development of Chinese Medicine and Health at Anhui University of Chinese Medicine. This event was organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the School of Pharmacy, Anhui University of Chinese Medicine, from November 23-25, 2024, in Hefei, Anhui Province, China.

On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Boonsupa served as an invited speaker, delivering a presentation on the topic, "Transcriptomic Insights into Triterpenoid Biosynthesis Pathways in the Medicinal Plant Trichosanthes cucumerina L." Furthermore, he visited the University's herb museum and engaged in discussions on fostering academic and research collaborations. These exchanges aimed to enhance the potential for research and education in herbal medicine and natural product development. The discussions also set the stage for future joint research projects and academic cooperation.

Moreover, his global engagement also supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries; and Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
