MUPY Dean visited NUS to strengthen institutional collaboration

On Monday, November 11, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean of Mahidol University's Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY), visited the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Giorgia Pastorin, Head of the Department, along with key members of the management team. The visit aimed to explore synergies and establish potential collaborative initiatives in pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy education.

Throughout the meeting, the two parties discussed mutual interest to promote collaboration on research and education. Both institutions expressed interest in developing joint educational activities to foster strategic partnership between the two institutions. Besides, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan invited NUS to join ASEAN PharmNET, a regional pharmacy network, to advance pharmacy education, research and practice of the region.

The visit concluded with an agreement to work together toward creating for activities ranging from student exchanges, and faculty collaborations, with the shared goal of advancing pharmacy education and research in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Moreover, this official visit supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries; and Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
