On Monday, October 28, 2024, at 09:00 A.M., the executive members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, MUPY Dean, extended an official welcome to a delegation from the School of Pharmacy, Guangxi Medical University (GXMU), People’s Republic of China, at Room 606 in MUPY's Rajanaratana Building. The GXMU delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Yang Jie, President of the College of Pharmacy, and included faculty members, undergraduate students, and graduate students, totaling 25 delegates from GXMU.

The objectives of the visit were 1) to explore potential collaborations between the two institutions, 2) to discuss shared interests related to educational management, curriculum design, professional development, talent cultivation, and internationalization, along with exchanging ideas on joint student training models and best practices in student management, and 3) to observe MUPY’s learning facilities and research laboratories. After the meeting concluded, the MUPY executives also led the GXMU delegation on a tour of the campus’s learning and research facilities, providing them with a deeper understanding of MUPY’s advancements in teaching and research. This visit helped to highlight the academic strengths of the institution and further strengthened the relationship between the two universities.

Additionally, the GXMU undergraduate students participated in the two-day Student Exchange Program hosted at MUPY from October 28–29, 2024. This program included a series of academic and cultural exchange activities designed to provide GXMU students with an in-depth overview of Thailand's healthcare system, MUPY’s educational practices, and research innovations. The program featured lectures on the Public Health and Healthcare System of Thailand, the Drug System and Thai Health Insurance System, Consumer Protection on Health Products, Pharmacy Education in Thailand, and MPOX: General Knowledge and Current Situation, followed by GXMU student presentations that allowed for hands-on learning experiences. Furthermore, the students joined guided discussions with MUPY undergraduate students, fostering professional connections and cultural understanding between both institutions.

Furthermore, this event responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
