On July 16, 2024, from 01.00 P.M. to 03.00 P.M., Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY) by its International Relations Office held an exit presentation of 13 exchange students including 1) four biochemistry students from the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santo Tomas (UST), the Philippines, and 2) nine pharmacy students from Hanoi University of Pharmacy (HUP), Vietnam. Having been held at Room 701, this event was attended by MUPY's executives led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisawan, the Dean, who delivered a warm farewell speech to the exchange students. Also joined the presentation included the faculty members in the Department of Biochemistry led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wanvisa Udomsinprasert, Chair of the Department of Biochemistry, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jiraphun Jittikoon, and their Department members. Besides, Dr. Thongtham Suksawat, attended the presentation at the presentation venue.
This session comprised both aforementioned students' exit presentations delivered by four UST exchange students who had completed the 2024 Pharmaceutical Biochemistry Training Program. The other presentation was conducted by 9 HUP exchange students who had completed the 2024 Student Mobility Program which had provided them with experiencing in pharmacy education and professional practices in Thailand's Bangkok.
These exchange programs aimed to develop the participating students' abilities, social skills, and sense of global citizenship in addition to providing the international students with an academic experience that would allow them to explore, learn, and practice in pertinent subjects. These exchange and training programs also aimed to increase the Faculty of Pharmacy's profile and reputation internationally by providing participating students with professional exposure in the areas of pharmaceutical biochemistry and pharmacy practice. Furthermore, this activity also responded to SDG’s Goal 4th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
