On January 31, 2024, during 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., MUPY's International Relations Unit arranged the exit presentation delivered by three exchange students from Japan's Meiji Pharmaceutical University. Having been held at Room 404, the exit presentation was attended by Asst. Prof. Jennis Meanwatthana and Asst. Prof. Sayamon Sukkha who were their academic advisors. Also joined the presentation was Dr. Yuka Tokunaga, a visiting scholar from Showa University's School of Pharmacy
The students included 1) Ms. Ami Ogata 2) Mr. Soju Nemoto, and 3) Mr. Shunsuke Nomoto who had finished their Professional Training Program in Clinical Pharmacy organized by MUPY’s International Relations Unit during December 6, 2023, until February 1, 2024, at the Faculty of Pharmacy and affiliated training sites. The sites consisted of Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center, Ramathibodi Hospital, BMA’s Healthcare Service Center No.51 (Chatuchak), Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital, and Phonprasit Pharmacy.
This training program's goal was to give the foreign students exposure to and experiences in various healthcare settings in Thailand, with a focus on clinical pharmacy practices in hospitals, healthcare service centers, and drug stores. This allowed the students to examine and contrast the healthcare systems and pharmacy practices of Thailand and Japan, as well as gain more knowledge about both nations' traditional medicine.
Furthermore, this activity corresponded the Faculty’s mission on terms of serving as the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation. It also responded to SDG’s 4th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and 17th Goal: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership.
