The 3rd CMU-MU Virtual Joint Symposium

On Friday, March 11, 2022, from 02.00 p.m. - 06.00 p.m. (Bangkok time), MUPY’s executives led by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, together with the Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doungdaw Chantasart, and the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, attended the 3rd CMU-MU Virtual Joint Symposium virtually hosted by China Medical University’s College of Medicine. This virtual symposium was co-hosted by Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Public Health. Having been arranged via the Cisco Webex Meetings, the event was presided by Prof. Dr. John S. Kuo, Vice President of China Medical University. It was also virtually attended by international scholars, researchers, and graduate students from both universities and their affiliated institutions. The presentations were divided into two main sessions including Public Health Session and Pharmacy Session. In this symposium, the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, also joined as the moderator in the Pharmacy Session with Prof. Dr. Liang-Yo Yang, the Dean of CMU’s Office of Global Affairs. Besides, two MUPY faculty members participated in this event as the speakers in the Pharmacy Session as follows. 1) Dr. Pakatip Ruenraroengsak presented her work entitled ’Novel Co-delivery System of Doxorubicin and Plant-based Compounds from Mangifera indica L. as Adjuvant Therapy Against Hepatocellular Carcinoma’. 2) Lect. Jennis Meanwatthana presented her work entitled ’Identification and Clinical Outcomes Evaluation of Drug‐Related Problems in Cancer Patients: A Developing Country’s Perspective’. This symposium served to provide a platform for researchers and scholars from both universities to effectively share their current findings with their peers and members of the academic community through eight academic presentations relating to pharmaceutical sciences, public health, and medical science. Furthermore, this symposium responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Reduce inequality within and among countries, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
