On December 7, 2021, at 11.30 a.m. - 12.15 p.m., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, participated as an invited speaker in the Vietnam Health Technology Assessment Conference which was arrannged under the theme ’Applying Evidence of Budget Impact Assessment in Reimbursement Package Construction’. Her topic was ’Application of budget impact analysis (BIA) in developing health benefit packages in Thailand’. Having been live-streamed via the Zoom Meeting, this virtual conference was hosted by Vietnam’s Hanoi University of Pharmacy in collaboration with Vietnam Health Economics Association, and the Department of Health Insurance, Ministry of Health. It was also virtually attended by Vietnamese and internation audiences.
This virtual conference aimed to share international experiences and policies on applying evidence of budget impact assessment in developing benefits packages as well as processes, methods, and techniques to conduct budget impact assessment research. It also had the participation of many delegates with national and international speakers who shared a lot of information, knowledge, and lessons learned, contributing to promoting learning, research, networking, and implementation and application of health technology assessment in Vietnam.
Furthermore, this symposium responded to SDG’s Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
