On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 07.00 a.m. onwards (Bangkok time), MUPY’s executives including Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doungdaw Chantasart, the Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, the Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies attended the opening session of the 2021 Graduate Research Symposium virtually organized by Malaysia’s the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Taylor’s University in collaboration with its Centre for Drug Discovery and Molecular Pharmacology, Mahidol University’s Faculty of Pharmacy, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, and MyBiomed.
Having been broadcasted via the Zoom Meeting platform, this virtual symposium was conducted under the theme ’Scientific Research Today: Borderless, Collaborative and Innovative’. It gained interest from more than 80 international participants including faculty members, scholars, and graduate students. This symposium served to provide a platform for postgraduate students from various institutions to effectively communicate their current findings with their peers and members of the academic community through oral and poster presentations.
The activities of this virtual symposium included plenary lectures by invited speakers, poster presentations, and oral presentations. The research areas of the presented work consisted of 1) Life Sciences 2) Natural Products, and Drug Discovery/Formulation 3) Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences, and 4) Food Sciences/Technology. In this regard, MUPY’s faculty members were invited to participate in this virtual symposium as shown below.
Plenary lecture: Assist. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Bunsapa delivered the lecture on the topic of “Biosynthesis and Biotechnology of Plant Natural Products: Challenges and Opportunities in the Omics Era”.

This event also promoted the SDGs’ goal including the 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and the 17th Goal: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
