The content of this virtual training included 1) Vaccine Economics in Health Systems, 2) Costing of Immunization Programs, 3) Economic Evaluation of Vaccines and Immunization Programs, and 4) Applying Economics to Vaccination Program Locally. The purpose of this training program was to build the capacity of people in health professions, especially, in the dimension of vaccine economics. In addition, the project has been established in 2017 with regional training hubs in Burkina Faso, Uganda, Pakistan, South Africa, and India. In the East Asian region, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University is a responsible organizer in this regional hub.
Moreover, TVEE aims for capacity building on vaccine economics by applying economics, economic evaluation, and health finance in national immunization management. In particular, management for the preparation and planning to implement the COVID-19 vaccines. TVEE has a strategy that the training and capacity-building activities must be consistent with the context of each country or region. Therefore, an educational institution in each region has been designated as the main operator.
