MUPY Welcomed Exchange Students from Kyushu University for International Training Program 2026

On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, at 09:00 a.m., the International Relations Office of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, organized an orientation meeting and welcoming session for three exchange undergraduate students from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan. The event was held at Room 403 and presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, who delivered a warm welcoming address and conveyed her best wishes for a fruitful academic and professional experience at the Faculty.

The orientation session provided essential information regarding the students’ professional training and research practice at selected laboratories within the Faculty of Pharmacy. The three exchange students from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan, were as follows: 

1) Miss Tomoka Murakami undertook her training and research practice under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pakatip Ruenraroengsak at the Department of Pharmacy.

2) Mr. Daizhi Chen conducted his training under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Benyakan Pongkitwitoon at the Department of Pharmaceutical Botany.

3) Miss Sara Aoki pursued her research practice under the supervision of Dr. Chaiwat Aneklaphakij at the Department of Pharmacognosy.

The international training program, scheduled from 24 February to 31 March 2026, was designed to enhance the participants’ academic knowledge and professional competencies in specialized areas of pharmaceutical sciences through intensive research and hands-on practice under the close guidance of distinguished faculty members.

The exchange program was expected to strengthen academic networks between the two institutions, promote cross-cultural learning experiences, and advance collaborative research initiatives in pharmaceutical sciences. By providing international students with opportunities to engage in high-quality research and professional training, the activity directly supported the Faculty’s mission to produce graduates of equivalent quality to leading pharmacy institutions in Asia, equipped with morality and professional competency to serve societal needs. Furthermore, the program contributed to the Faculty’s mission of producing research and innovation that meets national and international standards through collaborative supervision and scholarly exchange. In alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the initiative supported SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and equitable quality education and international academic mobility, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening global partnerships and institutional collaboration for sustainable development.
