MUPY Signs MoU with Chiba University to Strengthen Academic Collaboration and Global Student Exchange

On February 19, 2026, from 09.00 am to 12.00 pm, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), arranged the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony between MUPY and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chiba University, Japan. The ceremony took place at Room 606, 6th Floor, Rajaratana Building. In this regard, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, presided over the ceremony and delivered a warm welcoming speech to the distinguished delegates from Chiba University, led by Prof. Dr. Yasumitsu Ogra, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Kunikazu Moribe, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The event was also attended by MUPY’s administrative members, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Nuchtavorn, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Bunsupa, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Satit Puttipipatkhachorn, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutima Phechkrajang, and Assoc. Prof. Jiraporn Leanpolchareanchai, who joined in welcoming the guests.

The highlight of the event was the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Academic Exchange and the Agreement on Student Exchange. The agreement was signed by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan and Prof. Dr. Yasumitsu Ogra, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong and Prof. Dr. Kunikazu Moribe signing as witnesses. This collaboration aims to foster friendship and promote academic research and educational cooperation between the two institutions. The scope of collaboration covers key activities, including the exchange of faculty members and researchers, student exchange programs, the organization of joint research projects and conferences, and the exchange of academic information and publications. Furthermore, the agreement supports student exchange activities with a waiver of tuition fees, providing students with valuable opportunities to learn in an international environment.

This academic collaboration marks a significant milestone in strengthening international academic and research networks, which will contribute to the advancement of modern pharmaceutical knowledge for the benefit of society. Additionally, this initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 4: Quality Education, by enhancing educational opportunities and facilitating cross-border learning for students and staff, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reflecting a strong global partnership between higher education institutions to drive sustainable development in the pharmaceutical profession.
