On December 9, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM, administrative Members of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nantana Nuchtavorn, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation, and the faculty members welcomed and hosted a reception for Associate Professor Kwon from the National University of Singapore (NUS). The event, held at Room 309, was organized to explore innovative academic-industry integration models. The visit aimed to gain insights into the successful establishment and operation of the NUS Biomedical Sciences Interdisciplinary Industry Academy, particularly an innovative approach to bridging academia and industry.
The discussion focused on several key areas critical to enhancing regulatory science education and industry readiness. Highlights included a deep dive into the vision, mission, and structure of the NUS Biomedical Sciences Interdisciplinary Industry Academy, as well as the Regulatory Sciences education programs offered, such as the Graduate Certificate and continuing education initiatives. Assoc. Prof. Kwon shared valuable experiences in building industry collaborations through project-based learning, internship opportunities, and joint workshops. The primary objective of the session was to gather strategies for enhancing student employability and industry readiness through advanced interdisciplinary training. The Faculty's goal was to acquire guidance for launching similar initiatives to strengthen its collaboration with industry partners and advance regulatory science education in Thailand.
The Faculty anticipates that the insights gained from this high-level discussion will lead to the development of robust, international-standard programs that significantly enhance the skills and employability of its graduates. By strengthening the linkage between academic research and industry practice, the Faculty is actively working towards its vision: "To be a pharmaceutical academic institution that meets international standard and contributes to the development of sustainable society." This initiative strongly aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education by promoting relevant skills for decent work and improving the quality of technical and vocational training, and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure by fostering innovation and promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization through enhanced industry-academic collaboration.
