On September 4, 2025, from 01:30 PM to 04:00 PM, the administrative members of MUPY, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Surakit Nathisuwan, Dean, along with other executives including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies and Information Technology, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Bunsupa, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation, extended a cordial reception to the visiting delegation from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) General Santos, the Philippines. The meeting was held at Room R409, Rajaratana Building.
The UST General Santos delegation comprised 1) Rev. Fr. Edmund C. Nantes, (Associate Vice-Rector for Administration and Finance), 2) Prof. Dr. Edilberto P. Manahan (Associate Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs), 3) Mr. Oliver Shane R. Dumaoal, (Director, School of Health Sciences), 4) Ms. Stepanie Lois R. Sanchez (Program Chair, Department of Pharmacy), 5) Ms. Karen Joy Cabaluna, and 6) Ms. Jonahlynn Taplac. The visit aimed to gain focused insights into MUPY’s innovative approaches to clinical pharmacy education and experiential learning, explore Mahidol’s key research strengths for possible collaborative research, and discuss future academic linkages including faculty and student exchanges.
During the meeting, the delegates engaged in benchmarking activities and collaborative discussions covering innovative education, quality assurance, and potential research collaboration. The program also included the exchange of tokens of appreciation, a group photograph, and an optional campus tour showcasing MUPY’s modern laboratories, research centers, and service facilities. This visit not only enhanced mutual understanding between the two institutions but also laid the groundwork for potential long-term collaboration. It reflects MUPY’s commitment to advancing international partnerships and contributing to global health education. Moreover, the initiative strongly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering high-quality pharmacy education, strengthening research capacity, and promoting cross-border academic cooperation.
