On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM, the Graduate Program in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of Mahidol University led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montarat Thavorncharoensap, the Program Chair, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew held a collaborative meeting and discussion with Prof. Dr. Rani Sauriasari, Director of Research Funding and Ecosystem, Faculty of Pharmacy, the University of Indonesia (UI). The meeting served as a platform for academic exchange and strategic dialogue, with the key highlight being discussions on the potential establishment of a Health Technology Assessment (HTA) research center at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University. The discussion featured the distinguished guest, Prof. Dr. Rani Sauriasari, who shared her insights and experiences in research ecosystem development. Faculty members from the Graduate Program in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) participated in the meeting, which focused on topics including the UI-BISA (Bilateral Strategic Alliance) Research Grant, opportunities for collaborative research and funding, the establishment of the HTA FFUI, shared academic systems for undergraduate and professional programs in Thailand, and future collaborations involving the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research Journal.
This initiative was expected to pave the way for a successful establishment of UI’s HTA Office and foster impactful collaborative research between Mahidol University and the University of Indonesia. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to promoting academic excellence, cross-border cooperation, and capacity-building in health technology assessment. The event also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By promoting international educational cooperation and the development of sustainable research networks, this collaboration exemplifies a strong commitment to advancing inclusive and high-quality education and research partnerships.
