From June 9, 2025, to September 5, 2025, two undergraduate students, including Ms. Natthaya Buranasathien and Ms. Thunwaree Sarapunya, sixth-year Industrial Pharmacy students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), participated in a professional internship abroad at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan.
During their placement, both students conducted pharmaceutical formulation research, gaining valuable hands-on experience and expanding their disciplinary expertise. This overseas internship was part of the academic collaboration between MUPY and Kyushu University. Ms. Thunwaree Sarapunya also received financial support through the "Overseas Professional Internship Support Scholarship for Mahidol University Students for Fiscal Year 2025" from the Division of International Relations.
The program was designed to provide sixth-year students with comprehensive understanding of global knowledge frameworks and professional standards. Through research activities and laboratory work in Japan, students experienced different academic and cultural environments, gaining valuable educational and cross-cultural insights. This initiative aimed to enhance students' professional competencies and broaden their perspectives, ultimately contributing to MUPY's international recognition. Beyond academic development, participating students explored Japanese culture and traditions, strengthening their personal and social skills. This experience is expected to have lasting impacts on their future careers, providing them with unique scientific expertise and cross-cultural understanding.
The internship program strengthened the collaborative relationship between MUPY and Kyushu University, aligning with the Faculty's mission to produce graduates equivalent to leading Asian pharmaceutical institutions, equipped with moral integrity and competencies to serve societal needs. Inaddition, this program supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 4 (Quality Education) to ensure inclusive and equitable education and promote lifelong learning; Goal 10 (Reduced Inequalities) to address disparities within and among countries; and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) to strengthen global partnerships for sustainable development.
