On March 21, 2025, Prof. Dr. Leena Suntornsuk, as a representative of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), served as an invited speaker at the International Regulatory Science Forum 2025 which was physically hosted during March 21-22, 2025, by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and co-hosted by MUPY and the University of Southern California (USC) at the Chang Yung-Fa Foundation International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan.

During Session 3, "Regulatory Science Issues for Biosimilars: Perspectives from Academia," Prof. Dr. Leena Suntornsuk delivered a presentation titled "Navigating Biosimilar Regulation: Academic Insights." Her talk provided valuable academic perspectives on biosimilar regulatory frameworks and helped raise awareness about this critical area of pharmaceutical regulation. The International Regulatory Science Forum 2025 consisted of four specialized sessions:

- Session 1: Regulatory Challenges for Biosimilars: Perspectives from Regulatory Authorities
- Session 2: Bio Industries' Points of View: Sharing Experiences and Challenges on Biosimilars
- Session 3: Regulatory Science Issues for Biosimilars: Perspectives from Academia
- Session 4: Accessibility and Utilization: (1) Health Policy to Enhance Clinical Utilization (2) Clinical Experience Sharing

The Forum also focused on advancing quality control standards for health products, medical devices, and related healthcare items, with particular emphasis on biosimilar drugs—an increasingly important class of therapeutics in modern medicine. The forum brought together academic experts, industry professionals, and regulatory authorities to discuss current challenges and future directions in regulatory science across these diverse perspectives.

This participation reinforces MUPY's commitment to international collaboration in pharmaceutical education and regulatory science research. In addition, her participation in this academic conference supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries; and Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
