On November 2, 2022, from 09:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., MUPY’s executives led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Brompoj Prutthiwanasan, the Deputy Dean for Graduate Studies, provided a warm welcome to the delegation including academic staff, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eunjoo Pacifici, and doctorate students from the Department of Regulatory and Quality Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Southern California.
Having been held at Room 606, the meeting was also attended by MUPY’s academic staff in the Graduate Program in Regulatory Science for Pharmaceutical and Health Products led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutima Phechkrajang, the Program Director. In this regard, Prof. Dr. Leena Suntornsuk also joined the meeting to introduce a brief information of the Graduate Program to the visitors. Furthermore, they had opportunities to discuss and exchange the graduate program management, relevant knowledge, and professional experiences focusing on regulatory sciences for pharmaceutical and health products. Moreover, they had a chance to establish academic network as well as discuss the mutual collaboration between two institutions including academic exchange, research collaboration, and student exchange.
After that, the graduate students of both institutions shared their research works to each other. The research from MUPY graduate students included 1) “Transparency in drug regulation: Public assessment report by national regulatory authorities with stakeholder perspective” presented by Mr. Jaruwat Jenvutipanish, and 2) “Potential of Medical Cannabis Legalization in Indonesia, a Comparison with Thailand’s Recent Legalization Process” presented by Mr. Henny Aryani. The other two works from USC were 1) “Big data: Real world data and real-world evidence” presented by Ms. Katy Rudnick, and 2) “FDA’s accelerated approval pathway and current policy landscape” presented by Ms. Tayler Renshaw. Then, the USC guests visited MUPY’s service centers including the Center of Analysis for Product Quality (MUPY-CAPQ).
Furthermore, this activity responded to SDG’s Goal 4th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
