On Friday, August 1, 2025, from 02:30 PM to 04:00 PM, executives from Mahidol University's Faculty of Pharmacy (MUPY), including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, and Dr. Pongpol Thanuphol, Assistant Dean for Corporate Communication, participated in an online meeting via Zoom with representatives from the PAPRSB Institute of Health Sciences, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), led by Dr. Nurolaini Pg Haji Muhd Kifli, Deputy Dean, and Dr. Goh Poh Hui. The meeting served as a platform for both institutions to align their objectives and expectations in preparation for the students’ placement and experiential learning in pharmaceutical and food chemistry fields.
The primary agenda was to refine the implementation of an upcoming internship program, under which MUPY will host two undergraduate students from UBD. The internship will be conducted at MUPY’s Department of Food Chemistry from September 1 to December 5, 2025. This collaboration is expected to advance MUPY’s mission to serve as a portal for professional services encompassing drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics, and dietary supplements, contributing to the nation’s sustainable development. Additionally, it enhances MUPY’s international visibility, promotes academic and research excellence, and reinforces the long-standing partnership between MUPY and UBD.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education—by supporting international student mobility and professional development—and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through the cultivation of impactful global academic collaborations.
