MUPY and Keio University Strengthen Global Academic Ties to Drive International Student Exchange and Research Excellence

On Friday, May 15, 2026, from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm (local time in Japan), the executive delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong (Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication), Asst. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Bunsupa (Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation), Asst. Prof. Dr. Satsawat Visalsirikul (Assistant Dean for Administration), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pimpikar Kanchanadumkerng (Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies), visited the Faculty of Pharmacy at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Makoto Arita (Dean), followed by a constructive collaborative session.

The discussion focused on promoting high-level academic and research collaborations between the two distinguished institutions. Key initiatives proposed included joint research activities and structured faculty and student exchanges aimed at fostering a global scholarly environment. Furthermore, the MUPY delegation participated in a comprehensive campus tour of learning facilities and research laboratories. This provided an opportunity to witness Keio University’s state-of-the-art research instruments and laboratory management, which are instrumental in conducting cutting-edge pharmaceutical science research.

This official visit marked the successful conclusion of MUPY’s strategic mission to Japan, solidifying a long-term partnership with one of the nation’s premier private universities. These collaborative efforts directly contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing international learning pathways and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening global alliances in science and technology. Through these partnerships, MUPY continues to advance its research frontier and nurture the next generation of pharmaceutical experts for a sustainable future.
