MUPY and University of Shizuoka Strengthen Academic Ties to Advance Graduate Education and Joint Research

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 04:00 pm (local time in Japan), the executive delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University (MUPY), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong (Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication), Asst. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Bunsupa (Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation), Asst. Prof. Dr. Satsawat Visalsirikul (Assistant Dean for Administration), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pimpikar Kanchanadumkerng (Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies), visited the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Shizuoka, Japan.
The delegation was formally welcomed by Prof. Dr. Kouichi Yoshinari (Dean), followed by a productive session of collaborative discussions. During this official visit, MUPY delegates also had a chance to pay a courtesy visit with Prof. Dr. Yasuyuki Imai, the President, together with Prof. Dr. Yoshiyuki Kagawa, Vice President of the University of Shizuoka.
The discussion focused on promoting comprehensive academic collaboration between the two prestigious institutions. Key areas of interest included the establishment of joint research activities and the facilitation of faculty and student exchange programs to enhance global competency. Notably, both parties explored promising opportunities for cooperation in graduate education, with a particular emphasis on Ph.D. programs. This strategic focus aims to foster a high-level academic environment that encourages research innovation and supports the professional development of doctoral candidates through international mentorship and shared expertise.
