Facilities and Infrastructures

  • The Faculty of Pharmacy has 3 main buildings; Thepparat, Ratcharat and Pradit Hutangura Buildings. The Thepparat Building, a seven-storey building, houses a 350-seat auditorium, two 150-seat lecture rooms, several small lecture rooms, 7 large laboratories with well- equipped with enriched, state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate the high quality research activities, simulation laboratory, the Faculty Drug Store, and part of the central research laboratory and offices for administration and other supporting units. Ratcharat Building, an eight-storey building, houses a cafeteria, a library, the Medicinal Plant Information Center, the Drug Information Center, the Center of Analysis for Product Quality, a central computer center, and part of the central research laboratory. In this building, there are also two 150-seat lecture rooms, 20 small and medium-size lecture rooms, departmental offices, graduate student offices and laboratories for graduate and undergraduate studies. Each lecture room is fully equipped with audiovisual facilities including personal computer, data projector, desk microphone, laptop connectivity, etc. These facilities are regularly being renovated to ensure suitability for learning. Pradit Hutangura Buildings, a five-storey building, houses study rooms for student activities on the first-floor, an expanded library on the second-floor, and the Dermocosmetic Testing Center on the third-floor.
  • In addition, to the Faculty’s facilities, students in the program also have access to Mahidol University’s affiliated tertiary care hospitals including Siriraj Hospital, Ramathibodi Hospital and Golden Jubilee Medical Center. These are the top leading academic hospitals in the country which serve as major practice sites during the introductory / advanced pharmacy practice experience courses. In addition, the Faculty has a strong, nation wide connection with hospitals under the Ministry of Public Health and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration which provide ample opportunities to fulfill the need of the program. At these hospitals, student’s experience is therefore enriched through interaction with experienced clinical pharmacists, medical doctors, nurses and other allied health personnel and learning from hands-on experience in the real settings.
  • For Industrial Pharmacy, the Faculty has extensive connections and agreements with a large number of pharmaceutical companies in Bangkok and its vincinities. Example of these entities are the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), the Thai Red Cross, Pfizer, Sanof Aventis, Siam Pharmaceuticals, Biopharm and Greater Pharma. For Community Pharmacy, the Faculty has extensive collaboration with both independent stores across Bangkok and chain stores like Boots Retails, Fascino, Watson to name a few. In recent years, the Faculty encourages students to gain international practice experience through the network of our international partners in Southeast Asia, Japan, China and Europe.
