Laos pharmacists completed their 2021 pharmacy training program

On Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 1 pm to 4 pm, MUPY’s Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Somying Pumtong and Dr. Krisada Sakchaisri attended the exit presentation virtually-delivered by three Laos pharmacists who had joined and completed the ‘2021 Training Program in Technology of Medicine and Public Health for Health Personnel from Lao People’s Democratic Republic initiated by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’. Three pharmacists’ names included 1) Mr. Chansouk Vongsansouvanh, Vientiane Prefecture District, 2) Ms. Lathdaphone Phoumanivong, Xiengkhouang District, and 3) Mr. Nouphone Lyphengsay, Champasak District. Having been organized via the Cisco Webex platform, their exit presentation mainly focused on what they learned and gained from the series of online lectures in the field of the public health system, pharmaceutical care, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacotherapy, and pharmaceutical botany. The online lectures were conducted by numerous of MUPY’s faculty members from several Departments. They also gave MUPY some feedbacks for further program improvement. The training program was initiated by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and was continuously provided by the Mahidol University’s Faculties on an annual basis. In 2021, the pharmacy training program was officially carried out from February 1 to March 17, 2021. The objectives were to increase the knowledge and skills in health promotion and prevention, to strengthen and develop public health, and to exchange knowledge and experience in the development of medical technology and public health.
