ยาทั้งสองนี้ให้ประสิทธิผลดีพอๆ กัน เมื่อคิดเปรียบเทียบเป็นขนาดมาตรฐาน (คือ omeprazole 20 มิลลิกรัมและ lansoprazole 30 มิลลิกรัม) และมีข้อบ่งใช้เหมือนๆ กัน คือนำมาใช้รักษา duodenal ulcer gastric ulcer, reflux oesophagitis, gastro-esophagitis reflux disease (GERD), eradication of H. pylori (ร่วมกับยาอื่น), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (ZES)
