Virtual International Conference on Pharmaceutical Education 2022 (VICPE2022)

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 08.00 a.m. - 12.00 p.m. (Bangkok time), MUPY’s executives led by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, together with the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, and faculty members attended the Virtual International Conference on Pharmaceutical Education 2022 (VICPE2022) which was held on March 30th - 31st, 2022. Having been arranged via the Microsoft Teams platform, this virtual conference was organized by the Hanoi University of Pharmacy in collaboration with 1) the University of Illinois at Chicago, United States, 2) Mahidol University, Thailand, 3) Taipei Medical University, Taiwan, and 4) the University of Sydney, Australia. It was also virtually attended by more than 200 international scholars, researchers, and graduate students from partner universities and their affiliated institutions. The theme of this conference was “Innovation to transform pharmacy higher education program”, and its three sessions included the recent and most important findings from the hottest topics including: (i) Innovative training program to meet pharmacist competency standards; (ii) 4.0 Technology application and digital transforming in training organization; (iii) Training quality assurance and National Examination for pharmacist licensing. The purpose of the VICPE2022 was to promote the cooperation and sharing of experiences between scientists and pharmaceutical organizations in Vietnam and in the Region with the aim to integrate the higher education training program. According to its three main sessions, three MUPY faculty members also participated in this virtual conference as keynote speakers as follows. 1) Assist. Prof. Pitchaya Dilokpattanamongkol gave a lecture on ’Pharmacy training at Mahidol University in COVID-19 period’. 2) Assist. Prof. Dr. Nattawut Chareonthai gave a lecture on ’National examination for pharmacist licensing in Thailand’. 3) Lect. Jennis Meanwatthana gave a lecture on ’Digital transforming in pharmacy practice training in Thailand in the COVID period’. She also joined as a Chair in the 3rd session. Besides, this international conference responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Reduce inequality within and among countries, 10th Goal: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
