MUPY organized the 2021 MUPY-MPU Online Exchange Program

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 01.30 p.m. to 02.30 p.m. (Bangkok time), MUPY’s administrative staff led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, the Deputy Dean for International and Public Relations, and Mr. Amporn Songkasiri attended an opening session of the ’2021 MUPY-MPU Online Exchange Program’. This virtual exchange program was organized by MUPY’s Division of International Relations in collaboration with Meiji Pharmaceutical University (MPU). Having been arranged via Microsoft Teams, the program was virtually carried out from December 9, 2021, until February 9, 2022. Also joined this online event included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kazuhiro Higuchi, the representative of Meiji Pharmaceutical University. This virtual exchange was attended by three MUPY undergraduate students and three MPU undergraduate students. The online activities were conducted for one hour per week starting from the said period. It included special lectures by invited speakers from both universities, online discussion, and exchange sessions focusing on the pharmacy profession, learning methods, and student life. Regarding this, Lect. Wipharak Rattanavipanon also joined as an invited speaker on January 15, 2022, on the topic of ’Pharmacists’ Role in Community Pharmacy in Thailand’. The students listed above were as follows. 1. Ms. Taksaporn Sae-pua (4th-year student) 2. Ms. Thitirat Thitimahasan (4th-year student) 3. Mr. Pittaya Utthammachai (4th-year student) The objectives of this online exchange were to 1) provide the participating students with international experiences in the field of pharmacy education, the healthcare system of Thailand and Japan, and traditional medicine in both countries, 2) increase mutual understanding of the differences in the profession and responsibilities of pharmacists between the two countries, and 3) develop participating students’ English language skill, cross-cultural communication, digital skill, and interpersonal communication skills. It also aimed to increase academic staff and students worldwide exposure, resulting in leveraging the global visibility of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Furthermore, this online activity responded to SDG’s Goal 4: Quality Education to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
