Official Visit at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT)

On Friday, March 12, 2021, from 09.00 am to 03.00 p.m., Mahidol University’s Executives led by Vice President for Policy and Planning, namely Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chuthamanee Suthisisang, together with MUPY’s administrative staff led by Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, the Dean, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doungdaw Chantasart, Assistant Dean for Research and Innovation, arranged an official visit at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT). In this regard, they received an honor from KMUTT’s Vice President for Research Strategy, namely Dr. Warinthorn Songkasiri, who provided a warm welcome and presented some relevant research information of KMUTT. The purpose of this visit was to provide 14 MUPY’s faculty members an opportunity to further establish and discuss a research collaboration between faculty members of both institutions. This visit also allowed them to share their professional and research experiences as well as to observe some of KMUTT’s on-campus research infrastructure and facilities such as the Scientific Instrument Center for Standard and Industry, the Center of Applied Science and Engineering for Social Solution, the Unit of Sustainable Polymer & Innovative Composite Materials, the Neurosciences Center for Research and Innovation, and the Center of Excellence in Theoretical and Computational Science. Furthermore, they had a chance to further discuss the possible research fields including Scale-up of Extraction Processes, Medical Materials, Frontiers Cognitive/Computational/Clinical Neurosciences Research, and AI and Computational Methods for Drug Discovery. This official visit aimed to support and provide a wide range of research opportunities to connect their scholars and collaborate with expert researchers in the relevant fields. This synergized effort and investment from two of Thailand’s universities would significantly increase their research strengths and excellence as well as add value to the research outcomes, resulting in the benefits of the nation and mankind.
