MUHTA hosted a special lecture delivered by US visiting professor from University of California, San Francisco

On September 18, 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkaew, Director of Graduate Program in Health Technology Assessment (HTA), along with faculty members warmly hosted a reception for Prof. Dr. Dean Jamison, a visiting professor from Institute for Global Health Sciences, University of California, San Francisco, USA. With this regard, Prof. Dr. Dean Jamison had a fruitful discussion about further collaboration with faculty members, and he kindly then delivered a special lecture entitled “Health Benefits Packages for UHC: Findings from the Disease Control Priorities Project” to MUPY’s faculty members, graduate students, and those from partner institutions. In addition, Prof. Dr. Dean Jamison is Emeritus Professor in the Institute for Global Health Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco. In addition to UCSF, he has been with UCLA and the University of Washington and served as the T. & G. Angelopoulos Visiting Professor in the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard School of Public Health (2006-2008). He previously worked at the World Bank as a research economist and as manager of the Education Policy Division and of the Health, Nutrition and Population Division. He was lead author for the Bank’s 1993 World Development Report, Investing in Health. Furthermore, on September 19, 2018, Prof. Dean Jamison received a welcoming reception organized by International Relations Division and met Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., Acting President of Mahidol University, to discuss about further collaboration between two institutions. After that, he joined a campus tour and visited Sireeruckhachati Nature Learning Park as well as Mahidol University Archives.
