MUPY executives advocated for innovation in clinical pharmacy at the 6th Taiwan Joint Conference of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 09:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. (local time in Taiwan), Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan, MUPY Dean, participated in the 6th Taiwan Joint Conference of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The conference, held under the main theme "New Mindset for Future Pharmaceutical Practices," was organized by the Taiwan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP) and took place from November 16–17, 2024, at China Medical University (Shuinan Campus), Taiwan.

During this Conference, Assoc. Prof. Surakit Nathisuwan served as an invited speaker in the session Diversity in Pharmacy, presenting on the topic "Clinical Pharmacy Practice in Thailand: Roadmap Toward Integration into the National Healthcare Financing System." His sharing on Thailand's development experiences would greatly benefit the future development of pharmaceutical services and health insurance reimbursements in Taiwan. His presentation also underscored the importance of aligning clinical pharmacy with broader health objectives to improve accessibility, affordability, and quality of care in Thailand’s healthcare system.

The conference provided a platform for exchanging insights on best practices, policy development, and the advancement of clinical and health-system pharmacy practices. This collaboration aimed to inspire a forward-thinking mindset and to encourage multi-disciplinary cooperation, ultimately strengthening the impact of pharmacy on public health across the region.

Moreover, his global engagement also supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all; Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries; and Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
