On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM, local time in the Republic of Kenya, the executives of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sitaporn Youngkong, Acting Deputy Dean for Global Partnerships and Corporate Communication, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Chaikledkeaw, the Program Director of the Graduate Program in Health Technology Assessment of Mahidol University (MUHTA), visited University of Nairobi in the Republic of Kenya.
They traveled with the executive team from the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and had the opportunity to participate in academic collaboration discussions with the University of Nairobi's executive members. The discussions centered around mutual interests in public healthcare, clinical pharmacy and practice, pharmaceutical sciences, health technology assessment (HTA), traditional medicines, pharmacognosy, and phytomedicine, highlighting the potential for academic and research exchanges, faculty development, and joint projects aimed at addressing regional healthcare challenges.
Furthermore, this visit contributed to MUPY’s Vision and Mission to be a pharmaceutical academic institution that meets international standard and contributes to the development of sustainable society, and to serve as the portal for professional services that encompasses drugs, herbal medicine, cosmetics and dietary supplement to support the sustainable development of the nation. It also responded to SDG’s Goal 4th: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, Goal 10th: Reduce inequality within and among countries, and Goal 17th: Partnership for the Goals to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
